More than 70,000 people – including school-aged children – suffer from fever, pain, and digestive problems. Over-the-counter medications to treat these side effects are urgently needed. In the developing world, these medications are often unaffordable for people living on less than $2 a day.
H.A.R.T. is requesting donations to purchase pain relievers, fever reducers, antihistamines, and antacids.
One of the ways you can help people struggling in Haiti, is you can stop by your local pharmacy and purchase some of these medications and drop them off at our contact location in Grosse Pointe Farms. Or you can make a monetary donation here and we will use your funds to secure the necessary medications.
We love bringing used or new soccer balls, school supplies, powdered milk, etc for the children – they have almost nothing so they are very grateful for these small gifts.
All of our members and staff are volunteers, so we keep our operating costs to a minimum. That means 97.2% of the donations we receive goes directly to their intended purpose: to help the people of Haiti and Africa.
